Excellent food. Friendly and fairly fast. Very small but worth the inconvenience. Guacamole is some of the best ive had. Fresh made everything. WAY better than a fast food choice. The owner cook even let me eat before i paid. Nice folks! Steak Quesadillas were phenomenal!

Such a good find for this Ozarks trip!! If you're looking for something authentic and something that isn't fried bar food, give this restaurant a try! I ordered the lengua (tongue) tacos and carne asada. They were served as I hoped with cilantro and onions with a couple slices of lime on the side. Throw a little salsa verde on top and you're golden! We had the queso blanco to start which tasted great but I'm pretty sure it came from a jar (not surprising). Fresh ingredients and a small restaurant vibe made this a great experience. Only disappointment was no margarita to wash it down! Great selection of jarritos as well as glass bottle Coca Cola.

The food was good and authentic but this is NOT a sit down restaurant. We were looking forward to sitting down with a margarita and enjoying a great meal. We ended up getting takeout and heading back to the condo. Might head back for a quick lunch sometime.

Very tasty baja style tacos! I tried the carne asada, the carnitas and the chorizo tacos, and enjoyed it all immensely! The place is small and there were plenty waiting, though, so prepare for that and you'll have a great meal. They also have Mexican specialties on the menu like tripe and tongue.

La Tapatia is located next to Woody's bar near the hospital. This is authentic Mexican food and I have yet to have anything I didn't like. I particularly like their chorizo tacos. They serve no alcohol and only have a small table and a couple of booths. It is a perfect place to get take out or have a quiet meal with a very small group in the restaurant. They will deliver your food to the bar, (Woody's), next door, if you prefer to have a drink with your meal. Woody's is very smokey, however, if that would be an issue.

This small Taqueria is quite the find in this tourist area. I wasn't expecting to find something like this on our trip to the Lake of The Ozarks. Very small inside, maybe 4 tables. Has a large menu though. Everything seems made to order from what I could tell. Doesn't take too long for it to come out at all. Great service, only 1 guy there and he was very good at running everything, there were at least 6-8 people there and he handled it very well! As for the food, I had the Carnitas-very good flavor and texture, great choice to get. The Asada was one of the best, good quality meat, good portions, great flavor, and not overcooked. Really loved this one so much I got a second order. Finally the pastor was really good, nice flavor and quality of meat. All three meats were well prepared and not bland, overcooked, or low quality. This little shop packs a flavor punch! Go try if you are around.

Amazing tacos. Stopped in for lunch with my 10 year old daughter. 3 hours later we were back for dinner and we both couldn't get enough. Seriously stop reading these reviews and go enjoy some tacos.

LaTapatia has been bought out by some women and the food is even better. More good stuff in my tacos!!

The place is nothing fancy or special...but based on Yelp reviews we stopped in for a light lunch. My husband and I really enjoy Mexican food and would like to think we have a good idea of what good Mexican is. Well, this is good Mexican. We had chips and salsa, which were both fresh and flavorful. I had one Carnitas taco and my husband had one Chorizo taco. They were both excellent. The meat was tender and flavorful. Very good authentic food. We will definitely return !!!

Tacos were decent, a surprise in this lake town. Expensive, about $2 a taco and a very limited menu. Mexican drinks and sodas and lots of Mexican snackies. The young cook was friendly but the middle aged dude who took my order and my money was sadly lacking serious customer service skills. Tiny place, service is slow and lots of things seemed microwaved while I was sitting there.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
